Everyday-Tools: What do we use?

Today we would like to present you practical tools which we often use and which help us in certain areas.

HA Proxy

HAProxy is an OpenSource software that can be connected to one or more web servers to take over certain, previously configured processes. We use the software for fast load balancing and are expanding our infrastructure further. Compared to normal load balancing web servers, like Nginx, HA-Proxy is designed to control hundreds of servers at once.

Webpack

Webpack is used to merge different files. The tool compresses e.g. Scss, JS files, and ensures that the end-user has as few HTTP requests as possible. This saves valuable resources and can improve the loading time.

Fluentd

Fluentd is an open-source data collector, which lets you unify the data collection and consumption for better use and understanding of data (semi- or unstructured data sets). It is a great Big Data tool.

Jira

JIRA is a tool for bug tracking, issue tracking, and project management. With Jira, problems can be recorded and solved in a fixed process. This makes it possible to have a transparent overview at all times of what was done where and when by whom or who is currently working on tasks.

Confluence

Confluence is used by us for documentation. So knowledge can be effectively exchanged at any time without any e-mails or PowerPoint presentations.

Sip

Sip is a tool to manage colors and color tables. We use the tool to internally share customer color profiles and organize ourselves.

FOSSA

FOSSA makes sure that we pay attention to all licenses when developing IT projects and that there are no infringements. Especially in the case of application software consisting of different packages, an infringement of rights can quickly occur. e.g. if free icons from Flaticon are used without having the necessary legal rights.
